Description
Reporting to the Dean, the Director of Clinical Skills and Experiential Learning holds an integral role in the structure of the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies. In this role, the Director of Clinical Skills and Experiential Learning provides oversight and support to the nursing Entry and Advanced Level programs, in the areas of clinical skills lab, simulation experiences and standardized patient experiences that are in compliance with all guidelines and requirements (INACSL, SSIH, ASPE). This position requires a flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides feedback to Department Chairs and course faculty on program course materials as it relates to simulation education, current changes in practice, standards of practice, and student accomplishment of course and program outcomes.
  • Provides Simulation Lab instruction including demonstrations, laboratory sessions and testing.
  • Ensures student attendance, and adherence by students and faculty to the policies, procedures and behavioral guidelines of the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistance Studies, safety and security of the simulation laboratory, learners, and faculty.
  • Develops and implements high quality learning and assessment simulations.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of simulations as educational and assessment tools, and report findings to department chair(s) and course faculty.
  • Assists in the development of new curricula that is supported by simulation activities.
  • Conducts student evaluations and disseminates to the department chairs(s), course faculty, and Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant studies curriculum committee.
  • Collaborates with Associate Dean for Interprofessional Education, Research, and Practice Liaison for development and execution of simulation research.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience, including program management experience in a hospital setting.
  • Unencumbered NYS License as a Registered Nurse.
  • Knowledge of healthcare marketplace, financial analysis, current reimbursement issues, budgets, and operational analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills including a demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Professional experience within simulation education for clinical programs.

Salary/Salary Range
$100,000 - $120,000

Hofstra University provides the above salary as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
Salary ranges indicated for positions covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement are in accordance with the CBA.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
