POSITION
Summary:
The Housekeeper performs daily, and scheduled custodian tasks as assigned by the Administrator and/or designee.
They are a collaborative team member in the day-to-day maintenance of the facility for the enjoyment, cleanliness, and safety of residents and employees.
Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience of one year with cleaning equipment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
and to be able to bend, stoop and twist.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Well-groomed and appropriately dressed.
Good common sense.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but is not limited to):
Know and carry out the charism of the Sisters of St.
Joseph - to unite neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God.
Maintain the areas assigned in a clean, sanitary, and attractive condition.
Maintains equipment in good condition.
Removes waste properly.
Vacuum rugs and clean rooms/sweeps and mops.
Adheres to infection control policies.
Cleans all bathrooms in assigned areas.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Convent Administrator and/or designee.
ESSENTIAL ROLE CHARACTERISTICS:
Understanding of and commitment to the charism and mission of the Sisters of St.
Joseph.
Exhibits strong leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate a high degree of initiative and self-direction.
Foresight, sound judgment, and adaptability must be demonstrated.
Able to communicate effectively across all levels of staff, management, volunteers, and guests.
Requires a mindset that is mission minded when executing tasks including commitment to principles.

This role routinely uses various equipment including but not limited to:
Equipment - mop, broom, dustpan, cloths, brushes, dusters, etc.
Supplies:
glass, furniture, toilet, and floor cleaners, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly uses hands and fingers to handle, grasp, feel or operate objects or equipment, and reach with hands and arms.
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move utilize tools, bend, carry, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, or otherwise move objects.
This position involves standing, kneeling, and bending most of the time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision acuity to perform activities within arm's reach and to adjust focus.
